With the World Cup ended, it’s only appropriate that Samsung’s somewhat corny Galaxy 11 campaign ends with it. For those that haven’t been following along, the football (soccer) themed campaign began way back in November of 2013, centering around the idea that aliens have invaded Earth and football is our only salvation.

The campaign not only followed the recruitment of several famous football (soccer) players including Lionel Messi, it also detailed their training and last month the final match kicked off. The new video begins where the last ended, with humans losing and aliens looking certain to win unless the football stars pull it all together and give it their all.

The video itself is extremely predictable, and continues the Match’s tradition of using digitally rendered versions of famous football stars. This is in contrast to the early videos, which utilized the actual stars. Anyhow, be sure to check out the video above and tell us what you thought of the Galaxy 11 campaign. A solid and unique campaign, or just another cheesy marketing attempt?
