I wrote up a longer piece on this for MobileBurn.com today, but here’s the short and dirty version for you busy Android fans.
If you use an Android smartphone on T-Mobile USA or AT&T, you can now get the Vonage Mobile app from the Android Market. It will give you access to cheaper international rates on a pay-per-use plan or unlimited calling to 60 countries for US$24.99 per month. Better yet, it will give you free domestic VoIP calling when you have access to a Wi-Fi network.
That’s right. Free U.S. calling over Wi-Fi. Save your calling plan minutes for those pesky inbound calls by making your outbound calls free of charge. All calls, Wi-Fi or not, will show up as coming from your phone number, too. The app integrates into the normal calling functions of the phone seamlessly, just like Google Voice.
That’s a pretty good deal, if you ask me. A gallery of screen shots is available after the jump.
