EA Sports just officially released the North American version of the Madden NFL 12 game app for Android after a delay of about two weeks due to the National Football League (NFL) lockout which prevented Madden NFL 12 designers from acquiring essential information involving the official NFL team rosters. The European version of the app will be released this Friday, September 2.

The Madden NFL 12 game app is available on the Android Market and costs US$7.00.

Inspired by the NFL, this American football simulation game console can be played by choosing a character from among the 32 real-life NFL teams and about 2,500 players at the moment.

Game developers released a demo/preview last August 9 showing a game exhibition between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.

Fresh features in this newly released app include AI enhancements to allow players to correctly recognize and react to plays with the capability to break out of assignments when necessary. Unlike previous versions of Madden NFL, players can trade for future draft picks.

Another feature includes a mascot and cheer dance presentation of your chosen team during the start of the play-off.

This game console is developed by Electronic Arts (EA) Tiburon for publishing by EA Sports as part of the Madden games series.

If you dig football, you’ll most likely dig this NFL-inspired game app. What’s your current favorite sports game app for Android?

Any ideas if this will support the physical gaming buttons on the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY (“PlayStation phone”)?
