We’ve seen that Android N will include a Quick Reply capability that will let users interact with app notifications directly from the notification shade without even having to open up the app at all. We saw Hangouts get support for Quick Reply (as well as Android N’s grouped notifications feature), and now it looks as though Facebook Messenger is coming aboard.

A Google+ post from a user running the Android N developers preview and the beta version of Facebook Messenger reveals a screenshot that indicates that Facebook is experimenting with Quick Reply on their popular messaging platform. The feature is currently being tested in Version 74 of Messenger. If you want to get in on the action early, check out Facebook Messenger Beta and become a tester.

We haven’t seen an official announcement from Messenger regarding this feature just yet, but it’s expected to become ubiquitous once the rise of Android N is in full swing. We’d be very surprised if the app failed to bring Quick Reply to a stable version, and we anticipate that more and more apps will be gaining this ability going forward – especially messaging apps.
