Facebook Home leaked app disabled, screen stays dark
Pre-release Facebook Home APKs were leaked this morning, but Facebook has moved quickly to shut them down. Users that were able to get their hands on the leaked apps are now reporting a black background with just their profile picture.
The three leaked APKs that were leaked this morning by Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo are the main Facebook app, the Messenger app, and the Home launcher app. Pulled directly from an HTC First ROM, they were far from complete and had various issues such as Chat Heads not working.
If you weren’t able to try out Facebook Home today, the good news is you’ll only have to wait a few more days. The app launches on April 12 on the HTC First, and also on Google Play, for the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, HTC One, and HTC One X+. A Canadian release is expected in just a few weeks.
If you are an active Facebook user, chances are you’ve seen several ads about Home on the social network lately. Mark Zuckerberg’s company is betting big on Home, hence the marketing push, that already includes the TV commercial you can check out below.
