HTC One update

An HTC One update is available for the European model, and it’s starting to roll out as we speak, according to HTC representatives.

SlashGear reports that if you have the international model, you’ll be getting some useful improvements through this update starting with better sound capture in the HTC Zoe feature, as well as noise reduction in the slow motion movie capture function. This is update version 1.29.401.13 and it is not an Android 4.2 update.

The HTC One update also brings improvements, in some situations, to color reproduction and dynamic range, reducing over-exposure when it comes to non-HDR images. Also, correct ISO information will be displayed in the EXIF information of the image file when the user changes the ISO settings.

Apart from the features mentioned above, this update also comes with the “improved system performance and stability” you would expect. The update should be coming this week to users of the European HTC One, depending on country and carrier.

U.S. users that celebrated the smartphone’s nationwide launch a few days ago will probably get the update soon enough, too. And if you’re still not sure whether you want an HTC One or not, make sure you take a look at our HTC One review.

If you have the HTC One and you’ve already received the update, though, make sure you let us know how things work in a comment below.
