Update, September 25: Now available! Get one year of Amazon Prime for $67, a 33% discount, today only. Check out the post below for the benefits!

Original post, September 22: Netflix and Amazon Prime have certainly changed our TV viewing dynamic over the last few years, introducing special series that are exclusively available online with release models that differ from typical broadcast television. Amazon is especially proud of Transparent, an Amazon exclusive that won a total of five Emmy awards this weekend.

In celebration of Transparent’s success, Amazon is slashing its Prime membership down for $99 to just $67, but only this Friday at 12:00am ET and ending at one minute before midnight that same day.

For those who have never signed up for Prime before, the service gives you free two-day shipping on any item, free same-day shipping for select items in select metro areas, unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows from the Prime library, Amazon’s streaming music service, free unlimited photo storage, early access to Amazon lightning deals, and free access to select Kindle books.

If you have ever considered pulling the trigger on Prime service, now is a great time to do it. How about it, anyone planning to sign up for this at the discounted rate? Be sure to return to this post on Friday (we’ll update this post as a reminder), and sign up from here.
