Elixir 2 Makes Viewing System Info Easier on Android
Android app developer Tamás Barta has recently released the next generation of the Elixir app for Android. Called Elixir 2, the freshly updated app performs the same functions as the previous Elixir, plus more new and better stuff.
Elixir 2 is an Android app that can tell you a lot of things about your device. For instance, it can show you what hardware is on your phone, what software applications are available, and what programs are running. The app can also use widgets for shortcuts, for displaying info or accessing functions from the homescreen, and for showing information on the status bar.
Elixir 2 widgets are skinnable and customizable. The new version of the app also allows for widget creation–which can be very handy for viewing or quick access to important system info such as consumption statistics (e.g., battery, RAM, storage), running apps, network statistics, and the like. Status bar widgets can also be created and will be shown on the Notifications Drawer for quicker access to various functions or options.
Widget functionality for Elixir 2 is available as a separate app installation of the Elixir 2 – Widgets app. The widget component is available free from the Android Market.
The Elixir 2 app also has two separate add-on apps–both available free from the Android Market.
One is the Elixir Personal Add-on app, which provides features for managing personal data such as text messages, contacts, and calls. For instance, tapping on a contact’s name can present options for writing SMS, calling, composing email, and more.
The other add-on is the Elixir 2 – Admin Add-on app, which allows you to use phone features that normally require admin-level privileges.
Elixir 2 can help you get to know more about your Android phone, and at the same time possess the power to customize widgets and manage your smartphone.
