Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx HD
Motorola’s latest flagship devices, the Droid RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD, were very recently released in Canada. To keep the show rolling, Motorola has announced that the devices will be going on sale on Verizon very soon as well. The official launch date is scheduled for October 18th. Instead of releasing the phones separately, as they did with the first generation, both phones will be getting released at the same time.

In case you don’t remember, the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR Maxx HD will be shipping with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and are pretty much identical. They are sporting a 4.7 inch 720p Super AMOLED HD display, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 8mp shooter with 1080p video recording, and LTE support.

The major differences between the two devices is that the Droid RAZR Maxx HD battery is much larger than the Droid RAZR HD and comes with an additional 16GB of storage. If you want more info the specs, check out our first reports of the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR Maxx HD.

Which Droid RAZR should I get? The HD or the Maxx HD?

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, then the Droid RAZR HD is probably the one you’ll want. It’s priced at $199 while the Droid RAZR Maxx HD is priced at $299. There is a reason for the $100 price difference, though. The Maxx HD has a 3,300mAh battery compared to the RAZR HD’s 2,530mAh. It also comes with an additional 16GB of storage for a total of 32GB.

So if you’re looking for the phone with better specs, it’s the Maxx HD. Just be prepared to spend a little extra. Both phones also come in two color options, black and white. As for its smaller sibling, the Droid RAZR M, it has been out for a month already. Are you going to be picking up one of Motorola’s latest flagship devices? Let us know.

I’m definitely buying the MAXX HD… my first Android phone actually! I’m switching from an iPhone 4S on AT&T

I would buy maxx if it had quad and they would sell it in Finland :(

  • Palm

personally, i think that dual core is enough for android – – this is awesome

I would by one of the new RAZRs if i can’t get one Nexus and they come with competitive prices in my country.

I’m disappointed in the lack of a quad core and 2GB ram, but of they can keep showing 3300mah batteries into them ill buy it regardless.

    • Jared Persinger

I don’t really care about quad core but for sure the 2GB of ram

  • Metalmachine6

I might consider it if AT&T would get the MAXX HD, but they didn’t so Note 2 it is.

Everybody needs to realize that Motorola lied to the Motorola Atrix 4G owners about update to ICS. I would never buy another phone from Motorola – they’re liars.

    • Jared Persinger

They switched owners a few months ago

    • Previn Edwards

Yeah I was really mad about that too , but it’s not motorola’s fault. Google told them to cancel the update

      • http://about.me/teamdave teamdave™

and supposedly google has confirmed this time that they will be updating it before the years out. confused lol

Gonna have to take a serious look at the Maxx HD. I generally upgrade every 2 years to get my money’s worth out of the phone and my Droid X seems to be lagging as it approaches the 2 year time frame.

  • chase

I’ll be getting the Maxx HD to replace my Thunderbolt. I have the extended slim battery and it still only lasts me half a day.

  • GeEl

If Razr M (i) is being released, it should be coming to Canada?

  • dizze
