HTC teaser points towards the Desire 820, likely launching at IFA 2014
Just yesterday HTC began sending out an invite for its IFA breakfast on September 4th, promising to show us “what’s next for smartphones”. Now HTC is back with a new teaser, posting an image with the number 820 on it. Considering we are expecting the announcement of at least one new Desire handset, we imagine that this teaser is pointing towards the Desire 820.
So what do we actually know about the Desire 820? Precisely nada. It’s certainly possible the device could be the rumored 64-bit HTC A11 that leaked a while back touting a Snapdragon 410 processor, since the “what’s next” line from the original invite could be a hint at HTC’s plans to embrace 64-bit Qualcomm processors.
On that same line of thought, there’s a rumor floating around that HTC is preparing to release a handset with a currently-unreleased Snapdragon 615. Let’s be frank, if you’ve heard this rumor, we wouldn’t put too much stock into it (though we could be wrong). Right now there doesn’t appear to be any evidence to back this claim up, outside of speculation and theory. Either way, we’ll know soon enough.
What do you think, could the Desire 820 be one of the first 64-bit Qualcomm devices?
