I just received an invitation, of sorts, from Motorola, asking me to save the date of September 10, 2009 for an event in San Francisco. While this “invitation” provides no real details, there is an…
LG has scheduled an “exclusive event” for December 1st in New York city. Much to everyone’s surprise, they did not release any information on the topic of this event. However, our best guess is that we will be seeing an announcement for the Nitro HD (P930). If this is true, December 1st will mark the day that LG releases their first smart phone with an HD display on Western shores.
Back in May, Unwired View caught hold of an XML document that led us to believe we would be seeing LG release the Nitro HD. The device would feature Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture and playback. These specs are similar to the LG Optimus LTE (Korea).
In addition to the 4.5 inch screen, one of the most notable specs is the 1280 x 720 pixel HD display. Other manufacturers such as HTC, Toshiba, and Samsung had been tossing around rumors about such displays for months now. Furthermore, HTC and Samsung have just released the Rezound and the Galaxy Nexus which both feature 1280 x 720 pixel HD displays.
We will keep you posted as soon as we get more information. The event starts at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
