Deal: Samsung giving Qi Wireless Charging Pads to Samsung Pay adopters

by: John DyeMarch 3, 2016

Samsung is now offering free wireless charging pads to folks who pick up their pay-nearly-anywhere-with-your-smartphone service Samsung Pay. This is part of an ongoing campaign to encourage users to try this payment system, and all you have to do to be eligible is add a credit or debit card to Samsung Pay on your Galaxy smartphone.

The charger Samsung is shipping out to new Pay users is a Qi Wireless Charging Pad. To get yours, just add your card, head over to the promo area of the app, copy the coupon code there, and then go to the Samsung store to purchase the pad. As soon as you enter that coupon code, the price of the wireless charging pad will drop to zero, and within a few days you’ll be the proud owner of the most hassle-free charging method on the market today.

Samsung isn’t announcing this with too much fanfare. A reader tipped us off to this with a screenshot (seen below) so you’ll have to actively seek out this offer after activating Samsung Pay if you want to make the most of it. You don’t have to actually make a payment; adding a credit or debit card is enough to qualify. This offer looks like it will only last to March 10, so if you’re the owner of an eligible device, you might as well jump on it. There’s a free wireless charger in your future.

What do you think of Samsung’s latest effort to promote their payment system? Pay has been seeing some massive gains this year, but will it become the mainstream form of payment that the company wants it to be? Let us know your theories in the comments below, and be sure to share this offer with anybody you know has a Galaxy device!

  • I find it kind of insulting they don’t extend this offer past the March 11th date of when people are supposed to start receiving their Galaxy S7’s.

If I can’t get the bonus, I don’t intend to use it. I’ll just wait for the next set of bonuses if they don’t plan to be sensible. If that means I don’t use it, that’s fine too; that’s what plastic is for anyway.

They had another free item promo not too long ago and like this one, it was for “new”, first time card register users. So, for those like me who started using Pay as soon as it was available are not eligible for this offer. Seems kinda backwards, right? New users get the perks and the long time users get nothing. #thankssamsung

    • Exactly what Comcast does.

    • Antykain

Yeah, I was part of the original promo offering the Wireless charger for registering and using Samsung Pay. Would also love if Samsung did show some love for the people who have been using using it already. #whatgivessamsung

I can’t even find Samsung Pay in the app store.

    • I believe it’s pre-installed on your Samsung device. You do… have a Samsung device… Don’t you?

It only works on the following devices:

      • LesleyLooneytunes

Right. I don’t think it’s available here in the UK as you link shows American phone carriers and the app store shows my Galaxy S6 Edge isn’t compatible.

      • LesleyLooneytunes

I have the S6 Edge and it’s not on there

    • Dominick White

You had to search for it on the Google play store. Just download it on the wife note 5

  • Jeffrey

Samsung gave me a $50 check when I joined Samsung pay. So far that’s been the best deal I’ve seen.

    • wcjeep

local mall had $50 offers for Samsung Pay signups during Christmas.

  • Padraic Keogh

How about just giving us all Samsung Pay?

  • ddi

which countries are supported ? I saw it only available for some carriers

  • Cory Wayne Chadwell

Yah but they won’t let you dl Samsung pay on anything lower the the note 5 witch sucks

  • Captain Obvious

Mine is now on order, Thanks for the heads up!!!! FYI, clicking the link provided in the pay app did not work, I had to call their customer service and get a specific part number to associate with the promo.
