Update, February 12: BuyDig via eBay is selling the Nexus 5X for $280 again. Check out the deal here.

Original post, January 26: Looking for a deal on a pure Android device? You’re in luck: well-reviewed eBay seller BuyDig is offering the Nexus 5X for $299 with a $20 gift card bonus.

Google recently cut $50 off the price of the Nexus 5X, a device that many people found to be a little expensive when it launched last fall. At $349 for the 16GB model or $399 for the 32GB one, the LG-made phone is a much more attractive purchase.

Now BuyDig is making the deal even sweeter. The 16GB Nexus 5X is available for $299.99, while the 32GB version is just $349.99. Both versions come with a $20 Visa Gift Card that you can use wherever you want, but keep in mind you will need to wait 6 to 8 weeks to receive the card. Only the black versions are available.

At an effective $70 discount, this is a very nice deal, that we encourage you to check out if you’re interested in a modern and affordable Nexus device.

For a deep dive into the Nexus 5X make sure to read our full review, but here are the essentials: the Nexus 5X features  a 5.2-inch Full HD display, with a Snapdragon 808 processor and 2GB of RAM. The plastic-made device packs a 2,700 mAh battery and an excellent 13MP camera. Other interesting features are the fast and accurate Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor and the USB reversible Type C port. Above all, the Nexus 5X is a surefire way to stay on the leading edge of Android updates.

Still overpriced for a phone with such a tiny battery, 2GB of RAM and camera that isn’t that great.

Camera isn’t that great? What have you been smoking? 2GB of RAM is more than enough and i game on this throttling smartphone not to mention that 349$ is a fair price for it…

      • balcobomber25

To each there own. For me there are much better phones out there with 3-4GB of RAM for less than $350.

        • MrHollow

Name one with a non garbage rom/ui.

          • balcobomber25

Meizu MX5 can be found for as little $250. Flyme is an excellent UI.

          • MrHollow

I saw the meizu UI and i cannot stand it, it’s horrible. Not sure about the mediatek processor performance either, not that the SD 808 is any good.

At least with the N5X i get regular updates for the next 2 years :)

          • balcobomber25

I have an MX5, I get regular updates as well. I have had at least one (most times 2) update every month since owning it. The Helios X10 and the SD808 are just about even in terms of performance. I prefer most UI’s too stock Android

          • MrHollow

Probably i didn’t explain it well. When i say updates i actually mean Android updates, been using 6.0 Marshmallow for the past 2 months since I had it and there’s only a handful of devices rocking it.

Ever since the OnePlus and Cyanogen fiasco i stopped buying chinese stuff unless it’s done with a company like Google (see he Huawei 6P).

          • balcobomber25

After the fiasco with Lollipop and Nexus devices, I stopped caring about having the latest version of Android.

Flyme is full of malware and malicious code coupled with an unsecure MTK chipset. Why would a devout Xiaomi/Snapdragon fan as yourself not recommend the Note 3 Pro?

          • balcobomber25

Your comment is full of false and misleading information on topics you have very little knowledge of. I am not a fan of Snapdragon or MTK, they both make good and bad chips. I am a huge fan of Xiaomi but that doesn’t mean I cant recognize other great phones, and the MX5 is one of them.

It doesn’t have OIS, pretty much every camera without it is the same.

Call me when it gets down to $100. I still won’t buy it, but it would be nice to get a call.
