Boy, has the tech world changed lately! I remember the times when you had to wait for months in a row to see a decent enough phone get discounted by $20-30 compared to its initial list price. Now, Samsung gets the Galaxy S3 out for $700 in its SIM-free unlocked form, everybody wants a piece of it, everybody looks at it as the best phone around, and still its price gets slashed in just a couple of months.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I’m just saying it’s pretty unbelievable to see a super-phone like the S3 going for $499.99 so soon after its release. The deal comes via 1saleaday and, as you might suspect, it’s only set to be live for 17 more hours (and counting).

You don’t have much time to get your ducks in a row or overanalyze the deal, especially since I’m willing to bet the stocks will be exhausted much earlier than planned. Therefore, if you have $500 lying around and you’ve missed out on the S3 before for some reason, you can’t say no to this special offer!

1saleaday has AT&T’s version of the S3 up for grabs on this fantastic sale, but it is unlocked, so theoretically you’ll have the liberty to choose your preferred carrier. Unfortunately, AT&T phones don’t work on Verizon or Sprint, due to the different sets of communications protocols used by the companies. Your only choices will therefore be to activate the phone on AT&T, T-Mobile or another GSM network.

The discounted phone is a brand new unit in AT&T packaging with one-year manufacturer warranty and you can choose either the Marble White model or the Pebble Blue version. You also have free shipping included, but 1saleaday doesn’t mention how much time you’ll have to wait to get your brand new S3 delivered to your doorstep (probably no more than a week though).

There isn’t much we can tell you about the Galaxy S3 other than it clearly is the best Android phone ever manufactured. Powered by a super-snappy 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, it features 2GB of RAM, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, 8MP / 1.9MP dual cameras, 16GB of on-board memory, microSD support, and a 2,100mAh battery. The S3 runs Android 4.0 ICS with TouchWiz UI on top, but a Jelly Bean upgrade is reportedly in the works and should hit the “beast” very soon.

Can anyone say no to this deal?
