Deal alert: 6 free Christmas songs from Google Play Music

December 21, 2013

In addition to making the Christmas movie Elf available as a free download (at least the SD version) in the U.S., Google is also offering Android users six free songs this Christmas.

Labeled as “free and exclusive,” the Holiday Uncovered promotion proposes you six songs to download free of charge on Google Play Music, and the offer is valid in additional markets as well, although international users may have access to fewer free tracks than U.S.-based ones. Here’s the message Google posted on Google Play:

Happy Holidays! To celebrate the season, Google Play is proud to present exclusive Christmas carols from some of our favorite artists as our gift to you. There’s original tunes from the likes of Nick Lowe and Sonny & the Sunsets, plus jazzy and soulful takes on traditionals from Trombone Shorty and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. Enjoy!

The list of free songs includes the following tracks:

    • Merry Xmas I Love You by Sonny & the Sunsets
    • Christmas at the Airport by Nick Lowe
    • Jingle Bells by Trombone Shorty
    • The Little Drummer Boy by Michael Franti
    • Big Bulbs by Sharon Jones
    • Let is Snow by Christina Perri

Since we’re talking about carols, you may also want to check this neat Google Christmas karaoke trick available in Google Search/Now. We’ll also remind you that there are various app deals available this Christmas, so check out our round up here!

Google does not dare defy the monopoly on Spotify :)

That is unfortunate. You can’t buy Google Play music in Canada either, so I feel your frustration.
