In the last year, Samsung has established itself as the most popular Android device manufacturer in the world. Aided by the release of the Galaxy S3, the Korean company posted record-breaking shipments and sales in this year’s second quarter. Of course, with the $700+ (and $1100+ for the 64GB version) price tag, consumers are more than willing to spend a little extra to protect their “investment.”
Hoping to capitalize on the amazing success of Samsung’s latest flagship device, a lot of companies have released protective covers, cases, and other accessories for the device. Unfortunately, with the multitude of options available, it becomes increasingly difficult for the us, the consumers, to make the right choice. This is where we come in! At Android Authority, we do our best to get you all the information you’d need to help pick the best option available for you.
We’ve seen a lot of cases for the Galaxy S3 in our soft case and hard case review roundups. Today we take a look at a few more, with the Cygnett cases for the Samsung Galaxy S3. The three we will show you today are the Frost, the Form, and the TubeMap case.
The Frost case has a simple and elegant design and protects your Galaxy S3 without adding unnecessary bulk. This case comes with a screen protector and an electronics cleaning cloth in the box. Features of the Frost Matte Slim case include:
The case is semi-transparent, which means you can still see the Samsung logo on the back, even though we looked at a black case. The Frost case has a nice and thin profile, and feels great in the hand. Unfortunately, it does not cover the top and the bottom of the phone, but the slightly raised edges should reduce any damage from direct impact.
You can find out more about the Frost Matte Slim case from the Cygnett page here.
This slim-fit case is made with a durable polycarbonate material and has a sleek design with a glossy finish. This case also comes with a screen protector and electronics cleaning cloth. Features of the Form Slim high-gloss case include:
The Form case has a beautiful glossy design and looks and feels great. Like the Frost case, there is no protection on the top and bottom of the device. You can find out for about the Form Slim high-gloss case here.
The TubeMap hard case is an official licensed product for the Transport of London (London Underground). Features of this hard case include:
Of course, the special feature about this case is the map of the London Underground Tube system on the back with the city’s most famous stations. The cutout for the camera, LED, and speaker is a different design from the other cases, with no pillars in between. This is a limited edition case, and was released perfectly in-time with the London Olympics, for which Samsung is an official sponsor.
You can find out more about the TubeMap hard case here.
You can check out Clayton’s video review of these three Cygnett cases for the Samsung Galaxy S3 here:
The Cygnett Frost, Form, and TubeMap cases are all great covers to protect your Samsung Galaxy S3 from accidental bumps and drops. Unfortunately, all three don’t provide too much protection for the top and bottom of the phone, so that might not be suited for everybody. Of course, the limited edition TubeMap hard case has the most distinctive feature, and is definitely a good choice if you live in London.
Stay tuned to find out more about how these three cases, along with many more, can be yours, with our upcoming giveaway contest!

I just bought an S3 and the transparent version of this case yesterday. Packaging is pretty cool, Cygnett could make the pull-tab at the bottom more obvious. The included screen protector does not lay flat at the edges where there is a slight curve to the glass. Overall it is a nice product and should serve its purpose.
My screen guard does that too. I think most screen guards won’t stick to the curve
I bought the glossy rose colored one and I thought it would last pretty long. 1 week after I bumped the edge by accident on the corner of a table and the plastic corner of the case near the volume rocker came of. I didn’t even hit it that hard! I was so disappointed cause I bought new cases that were cheaper and seem to be more durable.
Hey Ankit !! I like the features of frost cover and it look very simple and cool. Share some more cases next time.
