If the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy S3 on Cricket is a little bit outside of your budget range, yet you want something more powerful than the HTC Desire C, you might find the LTE-enabled LG Optimus Regard to be the somewhat more palatable option.

The Optimus Regard has officially been added to Cricket’s Android smartphone lineup, and it can be had contract-free for $249.99 starting November 14.

The specs of the Regard aren’t that bad, but it’s the low-res display that ultimately seals the phone’s place in the lower spectrum of the market. Here are the specs:

    • 3.5-inch HVGA display
    • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
    • 5MP rear camera with LED flash
    • VGA front-facing camera
    • 4G LTE radio
    • 1,700mAh battery
    • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

The LG Optimus Regard is being touted as Cricket’s first 4G LTE smartphone. But what about the Galaxy S3? Well, that monster of a phone isn’t coming out until November 23. As for the carrier’s LTE data plans, they range from $50 to $70 per month for up to 10GB of data allowance.

Do you think the LG Optimus Regard is worth its $250 price tag?
