More pictures of the Ophone have surfaced over at the iloveophone by Sina Blog. This time, however, we can finally see what the Ophone looks like relative to its inspiration; the iPhone and iPhone 3G….
So, there are a number of large mobile phone operators out in China. After all, it is a big place. Consider China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom the AT&T, Sprint and Verizon of China. China Unicom is soon to offer the iPhone, while it has long been known that China Mobile will be pushing the OPhone running on a tweaked version of Android dubbed Open Mobile System. But now, thrown into the mix, is China Telecom, who will be offering the CPhone. The CPhone runs on a version of Android tweaked by a company called Access. Each one has been labelled as the killer of the other, so with all this competition out there, who will win?
The CPhone, which is what we’re predominantly interested in with this article, is an interesting looking device that has a UI which is certainly aimed more towards the Anime or cartoon-style lover. Hardware specifications on the CPhone are fairly hard to come by, but seem to include a 3.5-inch screen among the other standard options we’re growing used to seeing. Focussing more on the UI, the icons are original in design and are arranged in a slightly random, higgledy-piggledy, fashion. Take a look at a couple of pictures after the jump.
