No front branding. Love it. This is a big reason why I use the Nexus 5. I absolutely hate front branding.

Looking forward to this phone :)

I'm quite excited to see what this phone is going to be like when it comes out. Those are "top of the line flagship specs" and I'm interested in seeing exactly how they pack that much new hotness into a phone and also keep the cost that low. Those are the specs of a $800 device.

Of course, those are the rumored specs. I'm sure some of those may not be true come release day but I like CM. I only hope it has HDMI out :)

These are the company announced specs. I just copy pasted this from a official tread on the forum. The phone is heavily in production already.

Here's a new announcement from Carl:
I'm not sure about this one. This will most likely backfire in their face.
Anyhoo it's worth posting on AA. Here's the source=

Wowzas, I want this phone that much more now!

I don't think it's as a big as a problem as Carl is saying with consumers waiting for their devices. It rarely happens and even when I had to wait previously, I was never that annoyed. If anything it made me happier in my purchase knowing that others want it just as bad.

I'm predicting this invitation system is going to be a serious grand slam and the Oneplus One will be one of the biggest surprises of 2014. Let's remember who the target consumers are for this phone, it's not average joe. It's the early adopters, they are going to eat this method up and it's going to add to the culture that the Oneplus seems to be pushing.

I think the OnePlus One will steal a lot of Nexus users this year.

Does any one have an invite?

I think it's a brilliant scheme. They gain valuable coverage from the media, word of mouth promotion, and they create the illusion of scarcity. Clever marketing team.

OnePlus has quickly proven themselves to be a marketing genius, in my humble opinion. Now let's just hope the actual phone is as impressive -- though it sure looks that way so far!

Wow strange response from you guys
People on the OnePlus forum are not loving this, nor am I. This is not equal supply. People not active in the community will be nowhere close to getting an invitation. When you see a "out of stock" sign you don't think about it since it means no one can get it but when you see a system like this one where you're screwed because you don't spend one half of your free time on a tech forum, that makes you mad. It would be to me at least. This is not Gmail, this thing won't work as advertized. There will be backlash from it, i'm just not sure how much and from which side.
Also there will be a ton of people coming to their forum begging for an invitation turning the forum into a useless infestation of leaches.
At the moment, as i see it; nothing good can come of this.
I've been in a company where my bold ideas of change have been rejected. It takes time to figure out why this happened. I'm afraid that at average this OnePlus crew is to young and lacks wisdom.

I can see why users may not like it. But from a marketing perspective is a great idea. The way I see it, people would complain anyway. If they pre-ordered or had batches like Xiaomi, people would complain about long shipping or whatever. This way, at least they get the marketing bonus.
Unless it all burns and crashes :D

I would never do it. You will never make all your costumers happy but OnePlus has a neck for isolating their costumer base.
Most likely no one will ever know what the fall out of this will be. Not like they already have a phone out to compare sales. They even can't compare it to OPPO since the demand for this will be bigger than the find 5 now that the sister company paved the way.
