What according to you is an ideal screen size?
For me,my phone has 4" screen but it is frustrating to type the keyboard takes half the screen, the 5+ inch devices seem too much big.It is awkward to hold a big slab and hard to operate in one hand.

4 - 4.5 inches is the sweet spot for me. Anything else is just too big, as I like to use my phones one - handed.

5.1 to 6.0 is the best
just two years ago, a Galaxy S3 size of 4.8 inches, Now we are looking at smartphone sizes ranging as a standard from 5.1 to 6.4 inches. now its the time of tablets

Why? Is way too big imo. You can barely fit it in your pocket, it's too big to use one handed comfortably, and most of the time, it's heavy.

I'm still happy with ~4 inch devices, but considering how much time I spend reading on my phone, I'm pretty tempted by a >5 inch handset these days.

will 5.1 is the best for a person who watch a lot of movies and play a lot of game. nowadays people do not put their phone on the pocket. they keep it on their hand. well every body has a different opinion

4.7" would be ideal for me. But i can understand why people might need a Note size phone.

I'm good with my 4in device because i'm not comfortable with using 5-7in phones 'cos it's too heavy then i'd have to use both hands for keeping it steady. i'd like to use my phone one-handed.

I have a Galaxy S4 and as long as devs keep coming up with updates to customs roms, I will probably stick with this for the next year. Now that I have a suitable tablet, I dont do nearly as much on my phone as I used to. I normally would have upgraded to the S5 by now, but the size difference is too much. I am hoping that maybe a S6 will be in the right size range, but the way things are trending, that is a false hope.

I understand that they make the "mini" or the "compact" of certain phones. But they all seem to downgrade them. There is no way in hell I would buy an Iphone, but if the specs are the same in their different size phones, I am hoping others follow suit. I dont know why Samsung, with their 72 phone releases a year, would not cater to this high-end, smaller device crowd. What they should do (yes, I am dreaming here) is keep their S-line 5inch and below and use their note line for the bigger phones. Both getting top end specs, but have different sizes.

My note 3 is good , but I would max out at 6". Smaller if you don't watch a lot of movies , really depends on usage

4.5-4.7 inches is almost perfect... :)
But seeing the way all flagships are 5 + so I guess the Moto X (Gen 2) 5.2inch is good enough.
