Android Nexus 5x wifi hotspot not appearing in network lists (IOS and Windows)

Hi All, Running the latest version of Win 10 on an HP laptop. A few days ago I applied the latest Win 10 monthly patches. Now my Android hotspot wifi network is no longer appearing in my Win 10 Network list. (Android LG Nexus 5x running latest version of Android).

I rebooted my Android and my laptop but still not working.

Anyone else have this problem? I did some google searching and searched this forum and didn't find anything.

My friend has an iphone and their wifi hotspot network shows up fine on my Win 10 network list.

Also my Android wifi hotspot is not appearing on the network list on my friend's ipad (previously it did). Therefore I now think this is an Android Nexus 5x problem.

Also a few days ago I installed the latest Android updates. How do I get the Android Nexus 5x wifi hotspot to show up on the network lists on ipad, iphone and windows?

Other available wifi networks are showing up fine on the IOS and Windows devices I own.

    Thanks,

Try wiping the cache partition in recovery mode. If that doesn't work backup the data stored on your device and perform a hard factory reset.

Hi Jake, Thanks for your reply. Someone else on another forum suggested changing the wifi freq band on my Android. I changed the freq from 5ghz to 2.4 and now it's working and the Android 5x hotspot is now appearing on my Win 10 laptop and I can use it to surf.

    Cheers,
