Quad-core Zopo Leader Max to launch in December

The middle of December seems to be the month for Android in China! Meizu’s MX2 will go on sale alongside the Xiaomi TV. Oppo will launch the Find 5, and Zopo has a new 5.7-inch quad-core phone in the pipes!

Zopo isn’t a brand many people outside China will have heard of, but this young company is quickly making a name for itself thanks to their range of low cost, high performance phones.

The Zopo Leader Max is expected to be announced in the middle of December, and will come equipped with a 5.7-inch 1080 HD display, quad-core MT6589 CPU and either an 8- or 12-megapixel rear camera.

Like current Zopo phones, it is expected the new flagship model will support dual SIM stand-by and also have room for an SD card. Prices haven’t been confirmed, but most Chinese sites are suggesting the Leader Max will cost as little as 1600 Yuan ($256) for the base 16GB model.

  • Is it possible to buy one of these from an online store, or ebay, while living in the US that you know of, Andi? Anyone? I’m nearing the end of my contract, finally, with my Samsung Fascinate and it’s been a LONG 2 years being a tech geek and this time, I’m wanting to NOT be on a contract. It’s just too difficult for my tech loving brain. :o)

    • MasterMuffin

It probably will become possible, but it will cost more than in China and it may not work in USA’s network

MasterMuffin beat me to it! I’m not sure the MT6589 chip will be compatible on U.S carriers.
