Bixby made its debut on the Galaxy S8 series back in April. As you may know, the company didn’t launch the full version of the digital assistant in the US, as the voice control feature wasn’t — and still isn’t — available on the two flagship devices. However, if the latest leak is to be believed, the tech giant will thankfully release Bixby Voice very soon.

Someone has posted an image on Reddit of what looks like an email that was probably sent to a number Samsung employees. As you can see below, it reveals that Bixby Voice will be released on Tuesday, July 18.

Before you get too excited, let me just point out that this is just a rumor for now, as the release date hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung yet. Although it’s quite possible that it’s true, based on the fact that the company has released a preview of Bixby voice commands about three weeks ago.

News

As already reported last week, the main reason for the delay of Bixby Voice in the US is the lack of the accumulation of big data, which is required for deep learning technology. Additionally, the poor communication between engineers in the US and those based in South Korea, at the company’s headquarters, is also slowing down the development.

Even if the rumor is inaccurate and Bixby Voice won’t launch on July 18, we assume that Samsung will release it relatively soon. The company is expected to take the wraps off the Galaxy Note 8 next month, which is rumored to have Bixby on board. Releasing another flagship device without the full version of it digital assistant is something Samsung will probably try to avoid at all cost.
