If you are a power user of the popular Tasker automation app, you know it can do a lot for Android smartphone and tablet owners. However, if you really want to add even more features to Tasker, you might want to try out AutoTools. The app, which is now in the Google Play Store, comes from third-party developer joaomgcd and is basically a plug-in for Tasker.

AutoTools, which the developer itself refers to as “Tasker Plus”, allows Android owners to access setting that are normally out of reach, such as Toggle Location, Night Mode, Battery Saver and more. The app also lets Tasker users create any kind of custom toasts they want, with different fonts, colors and layouts. It also supports OCR (optical image recognition), which allows users to take a picture of some text and use it inside of Tasker.

AutoTools also has lots of other just plain fun features, such as the ability to create specific patterns for your phone’s flashlight, or create your own Chrome tabs. It can set up the display to accept different types of gestures and commands with pressure sensitivity support. In short, there’s a lot that can be done with this Tasker add-on.

Keep in mind that AutoTools is not a stand alone app; it requires Tasker to be installed on your Android device. The developer is releasing the app for the price of $2.99, but it does come with a 30-day free trial for those folks who want to try it out.  There’s also a full guide on how to use AutoTools on the developer’s website.
