Is Amazon Making a Very Inexpensive Phone?

by: Matthew SabatiniNovember 23, 2011

After the release of the Amazon Kindle Fire Android tablet, rumors have already surfaced about Amazon creating a smart phone. It would of course be called the “Kindle Phone”, and is rumored to pack a Texas Instruments OMAP 4 processor and to be priced around $200 or less.

Is it Possible?

Of course, no one expected Amazon to create a tablet, let alone their own Android app store variation. However, now that they have gotten themselves into the game and have gotten so much attention, expansion is inevitable.

Is it Probable?

Yes, Allthingsd reports that “Based on our [...]

Will Google Music Become Bigger and Better than iTunes?

by: Matthew SabatiniNovember 23, 2011

After releasing Google Music Beta a while back, people started to become suspicious. It would only be fair that Android users have access to buying music and listening to it like their iOS counterparts. The Music beta started off by allowing users to upload their whole iTunes library to Google’s “cloud”. After doing so, users would be able to listen to their music on smart phones and computers anywhere there they had internet access, be it through 3G, 4G, or WiFi. Additionally, the music files could be saved locally for offline listening.

So the ultimate question is, will Google Music be able to stand up to iTunes?

As of right now, there is no [...]

How “Wireless” Really Are iOS Software Updates?

by: Matthew SabatiniNovember 23, 2011

Earlier last week, iOS users began to update to version 5.0.1. The newer version of iOS 5 is supposed to give increased battery life to the iPhone family. However, for some users, that was clearly not the case. Some of the issues were:

Cannot Update Without Wi-Fi

Cannot Check for Update

Cannot Install Update

Clearly, there are a few flaws in the iOS over-the-air updating system. However, these problems didn’t happen to everyone, but a good deal of people were experiencing some updating errors.

In addition to these errors, some also observed that [...]

HTC Rezound is Available Now at Verizon for $299

by: Matthew SabatiniNovember 16, 2011
It is finally here! The HTC Rezound has touched ground at Verizon all for the relatively "standard" $299. If you are not getting a new contract or using an upgrade, you are looking at $649.99. In addition, as usual, you must connect a 4G Verizon data plan to get the $299 price. More specifically, Verizon claims that their lowest data pack is $20, but when you click to see a full list of plans, $20 is no where to be found.

Netflix Shows Off New User Interface For Android Tablets

by: Matthew SabatiniNovember 16, 2011
Change is often thought of as a bad thing. However when it comes to new technology, change is one of the best experiences you can get. Furthermore, application updates are like Christmas presents to smartphone users. Netflix knows this and is constantly changing the UI (user interface) of all of their apps to keep their users coming back for more. And earlier today, they did just that.

by: Matthew SabatiniNovember 16, 2011
For just about a month now, Samsung and Google (as well as almost every wireless carrier), has kept us all on the edge of our seats about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. After Google and Samsung released the final specifications of the device, they even threw in a rather vague release date. November they said, and now half the month has come and gone without a single "official" word.
