But, not everything went smoothly on release day, as can be expected. Aside from the initial criticism by owners about some bugs found on the device and that mess up which caused the retailer to sell a developer prototype instead of the regular handset to the first buyer, Samsung has leaked the email identities of the first 100 buyers with each other.

A nearly sixfold increase in security threats such as spyware and viruses has been reported in the Android operating system since July, according to sources at Juniper Networks. Most of these threats can be traced back to third-party applications that are not sold on Google’s Android Market, says a Bloomberg report.
“The open nature of the Android system makes it more susceptible to attack,” Dan Hoffman of Juniper said in an interview. “If it’s on a third-party site, Google can’t remove it.”
“It’s possible to find an infected ‘Angry Birds’ game available for download right next to a legitimate one,” said Danielle Hamel, a spokeswoman at [...]

To be released on November 16, the Amazon Kindle Fire is proving to be a tough contender when paired up with other up-and-coming tablets in the market under the $200 budget such as the Nook Tablet, but to have the Amazon Kindle Fire lure potential iPad buyers off the Apple ship is not an easy feat.
Recent research, however, provides proof of this. RBC Capital Markets and ChangeWave Research have conducted surveys indicating that potential [...]
If you’ve marked November 9 on your calendars for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime’s big release day, you’re going to have to wait it out a little longer, as the release date has been moved to a December date.
To console aggrieved fans out there who have eagerly waited for the release, the delay comes with a bonus: the ASUS Transformer Prime will natively run on Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich, and not Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
Sources note that Google, who is behind the Android mobile operating OS, has not been very supportive of Taiwan-based PC vendors in upgrading from Android 3.0 to Android 4.0. As such, more of these vendors are turning to a rival OS, Microsoft’s [...]
