New Motorola Tablet Exposed in Leak Photo, Could Have 7-inch Screen

by: Alvin YbañezSeptember 21, 2011

Motorola has a new upcoming tablet–one that is possibly smaller and thinner than the Motorola XOOM. The photo of the device shows that it possibly has a 7-inch display and is running an unknown version of Android.

A photo of the new Motorola tablet was leaked to This Is My Next (TIMN) from an unknown source.

The tablet bears the Motorola wordmark on the upper left corner if the device is held upright.  At the bottom are what appear to be interface ports, possibly microUSB and Micro HDMI.

The corners are slightly angled, which actually makes the tablet look like a bigger version of the Motorola Photon 4G.

Although the photo is blurry, TIMN [...]

Modder Makes Wii Games Playable on Android Tablet

by: Alvin YbañezSeptember 20, 2011

Do you want to play your favorite Nintendo Wii games right on your Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet? Sounds impossible to mere mortals like me–but not to the likes of Obiwan222222, who has made it possible to play Wii games on his ASUS Eee Pad Transformer.

The setup involves a combination of the Splashtop Remote Desktop HD app, the Dolphin emulator, and a wireless Xbox 360 controller.

According to the modder himself, he has made Wii games playable on other platforms such as the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) and the iPod Touch some months ago.  And now, his next victim is the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer with Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

It is all done with the [...]

Sony Ericsson Xperia Smartphones Could Taste Android 2.4/4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

by: Alvin YbañezSeptember 12, 2011

A Sony Ericsson representative recently announced that its Xperia series of Android handsets may get software updates to upgrade the phones from their current Android versions to the latest Android 2.4/4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) when the latter is released.

The company representative told mobile tech site SoMobile that Sony Ericsson Xperia handsets released in 2011 all have built-in support for ICS.

However, the Sony Ericsson representative’s pronouncement is no guarantee or assurance that the Xperia line will, in fact, receive ICS upgrades. Sony Ericsson has not made any official decision on pushing out ICS to currently existing Xperia handsets.

“When it comes [...]

Motorola EX225 Could Challenge HTC Status

by: Alvin YbañezSeptember 12, 2011

A photo of the Motorola EX225 shown on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) listing of qualified product designs suggests that the handset targets fans and users of the popular social networking site Facebook.

The photo on the End Product Detail page for the Motorola EX225 shows a full, five-row QWERTY keyboard and what appears to be a dedicated Facebook button at the lower-left corner of the keyboard layout, along the same row as the space bar.

It is still unclear whether the phone runs Android, since there are no obvious Android buttons on the phone. Other tech sites are touting the possibility of the handset’s running Qualcomm’s Brew platform, which [...]
