Sony’s Mobile World Congress invite hints at more Xperia phones being announced next month

by: AlexanderJanuary 11, 2012

This might be a little to early, since CES isn’t even over yet. But the next big event in Android takes place at the end of February in Barcelona, Mobile World Congress 2012. Today Sony started sending out invites for the event, which is pictured above, and it looks like we are going to see more Xperia phones announced at MWC next month. Mobile World Congress is February 27th – March 1, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain, and as always we will bring you all the latest from that event.

In related news, a Tweet from Orange UK’s Conor Maples confirms that the network will carry Sony’s new flagship phone the Xperia S. Rival networks O2 and Three have already [...]

Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus has 32GB of Internal Storage

by: AlexanderJanuary 11, 2012

Great news for all of us looking for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus. The ads that had the Sprint Galaxy Nexus shown with only 16GB of storage seem to have been wrong. I emailed Sprint yesterday asking them why they weren’t offering the 32GB version, and they got back to me today saying that they are offering the 32GB version of the Galaxy Nexus. So now all your Sprint customers thinking of switching to Verizon just for the 32GB Galaxy Nexus don’t need to.

So now the question is will Sprint charge the same $299 that Verizon is charging? Or will it keep to it’s $199 pricing structure that they said they would keep for their LTE devices? We’ll have to [...]

Up Close and Personal with Verizon’s Droid Razr Maxx

by: AlexanderJanuary 11, 2012

We had a chance to get up close and personal with Verizon and Motorola’s Droid Razr Maxx. I must say it’s even better then the Droid Razr, while the only main difference is the huge battery that’s in the Droid Razr Maxx, and it’s bump up to 32GB of memory, it’s worth checking out.

The Droid Razr Maxx is still just as thin as the original Droid Razr, but at CES it lost it’s title as the world’s thinnest smartphone. But we knew that was going to happen at CES didn’t we? We’ve got tons of pictures for you down below, to admire until it official launches on big red sometime later this year. It will launch at $299 on Verizon [...]

T-Mobile and Samsung Announce the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

by: AlexanderJanuary 11, 2012

Just when we thought T-Mobile was going to be left in everyone’s dust, they go ahead and announce the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G – it’s interesting to me that it’s not the Galaxy S2 Blaze 4G? Anyways T-Mobile announced the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G — a HSPA+ 42mbps device  from Samsung.  The Blaze 4G features a dual-core Snapdragon S3 at 1.5GHz and a Super AMOLED screen, and offers a “variety of pre-loaded entertainment.”  We’ll be sure to catch up with T-Mobile and get more information.

This is only T-Mobile’s second device that can reach up to 42mbps on their HSPA+ although the chances of you actually seeing that speed is [...]

Where does Sprint stand on 4G LTE with Devices, Plans and Prices?

by: AlexanderJanuary 10, 2012

Over the last couple of days we have seen a ton of Press releases, but it looks like we missed something important. Sprint slipped in some information with their Press Release of the Galaxy Nexus, and the LG Viper.

Sprint says they have 15 LTE devices set to launch in 2012, on top of that it looks like they will be keeping unlimited data for their LTE network. Good news right? Now we did not hear anything about throttling, so they could be taking the T-Mobile route and giving you a cap, and once you hit that cap reducing your network speeds.

Lastly, it was also stated that the prices of their LTE devices would not be crazily high like with Verizon – come [...]
