Yes, that’s right. I’m selling the site so that I can focus all of our attention on MobileBurn.com, which has been our real business for 10 years. AndroidAuthority.com has been fun, but we can’t do it justice any longer – it needs new management, or it will simply be shut down. I’m selling it with all the existing text and image content. Basically you can move the WordPress install in its entirety anywhere you like for hosting. I can help with that, even, or temporarily allow you to run it on our servers. If you are interested in it, please …
I could write about this, but since pictures are worth a thousand words, here’s perhaps a few million words worth of video demonstrating the new Google Voice for Android update that was released today.
Here’s a video that Todd Haselton of MobileBurn.com shot of the Toshiba Folio 100 at the 2010 IFA event in Berlin, Germany.
Here are the two videos I shot of the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon Wireless that I’ve had for the past few days. It is my favorite of the Galaxy S smartphones released in the U.S. so far, thanks to its simple hardware design, UI tweaks like a task manager, and the addition of a flash on the 5megapixel camera. Part 2 is after the jump.
Here’s video that Todd Haselton of MobileBurn.com shot for us, with the help of Will Park from IntoMobile, showing you the Android powered Archos 10 tablet.
My Motorola DROID received a second Froyo update yesterday, this one being the FRG22D update that adds the ability to download the Adobe Flash 10.1 browser plug-in from the Android Market. So if I got it, you guys should all get it pretty soon, too. I installed Adobe Flash 10.1 and it seems to work decently, so far. I will have to play around with it more to see how it compares with the built-in one on the DROID 2.

Today Google announced that it was not going to present at the annual JavaOne developer conference, as originally planned, due to the recent patent infringement suit filed against it by Java developer Oracle. [via MobileBurn]
Here’s the video portion of the review I’m doing of the Motorola Charm for MobileBurn.com. The Charm is a cool little Android 2.1 smartphone running MOTOBLUR in a compact, full QWERTY bar form factor. Both parts of the 2 part video are available in the YouTube playlist found below.
It seems that the new Dell Aero smartphone is available for purchase with or without an AT&T contract. But before you get too excited, this little bugger runs atop of Android 1.5. That’s right, Cupcake. Still interested? Well then, the Aero measures 11.6 x 121.92 x 57.9mm in size, features a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.5-inch 460×360 pixel display (roughly HVGA’ish), and a 624MHz processor. There’s also support for microSD memory cards, with a 2GB card included. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS are also built-in. It costs $99.99 with a contract, and only $299.99 without. Full specs, and a couple more …
Samsung just sent me a video file of a teaser spot for the new Galaxy Tab Android 2.2 tablet that the company is going to officially launch on September 2 at the IFA event in Berlin. The tablet features a 7-inch touchscreen display and supports video calling. MobileBurn’s Todd Haselton will be at the event and should be able to provide us with some good live coverage. Stay tuned.
In slightly better firmware update news from Motorola than what we’ve been getting, the company has stated on its Support Forums that the European version of the Motorola Milestone (the DROID in the U.S.) will get an Android 2.2 Froyo update sometime in Q4 of 2010. [via Arne Hess]
According to a recent post by a Motorola employee on the Motorola Support Forums, Moto has been having a bit more trouble getting OpenGL working on the CLIQ, CLIQ XT, and BackFlip than expected, which is delaying the already long delayed update to Android 2.1 for these devices, which was originally promised for Q2 of 2010. The statement reads as follows: The quality of experience for consumers is a top priority in providing upgrades to our current product portfolio. In working through Android 2.1 upgrades for CLIQ, CLIQ XT, and Backflip, certain hardware configurations have been limiting upgrade capabilities. We …
I posted my review of the Motorola DROID 2 for Verizon Wireless on MobileBurn yesterday afternoon. Here’s the intro from the full Motorola DROID 2 review: When Verizon first launched the original DROID by Motorola, it marked the carrier’s first step into the world of Android smartphones – and it was a good one. The DROID, like the DROID 2 we review today, features a large 3.7-inch WVGA resolution touchscreen display and a slide-out 4-row QWERTY keyboard in a design with subdued styling. Just as the original DROID was a good device, so is the new DROID 2. It still …
Not much to say here, since I say it all in the video. Here’s part 1 of our Samsung Epic 4G smartphone video review. Part 2 will be coming along in the next day or so.
