After bringing Indoor Maps to the US and UK, Germany is now the next European country that has received the service. Users will now be able to find their way around a number of German shopping malls, airports, museums, and other public places of interest.

Rhapsody takes on Shazam and SoundHound with SongMatch

Rhapsody's SongMatch joins the list of music identification apps such as Shazam and SoundHound. The app is powered by Gracenote (the same one which identifies music in your iTunes library) and is available for free.

Facebook Messenger doesn’t require you use Facebook, has world domination on its mind

Starting today, you no longer need a Facebook account to use Facebook Messenger. Yes, you read that right. With this unexpected move they are now entering the hotly contested arena of SMS replacement apps. All you need to start is a name and phone number, and you can communicate with anyone in your contact list.

RBS and Visa join hands to launch V.me in UK

Visa and RBS have joined hands to launch V.me in the UK. While the initial testing is still going on, they expect to launch the service in spring 2013. To refresh your memory, V.me exited beta with 53 bank partners and 23 retail partners, certainly giving it some credibility and initial momentum to storm a soon-to-be saturated market.

AnTuTu Benchmark 3.0.1 available, packs a slick new interface

While benchmarks don't always provide a realistic impression of day-to-day performance, they still do give an idea of the raw processing power your phone carries. AnTuTu has now become one of the more popular Android benchmarking applications out there, and this update brings it to version 3.0.1.
