How to flash gregkernel for the Xperia T LT30p or Xperia TX LT29i

by: Carl ParkerJanuary 22, 2013

Although the Sony Xperia T LT30p and the Sony Xperia TX LT29i don’t have a flood of ROMs like the Samsung or Google smartphones do, their ROM builds are pretty strong and stable. When newer ROMs don’t seem to come packed with the features you want, you can always count on custom kernels. To get you started, you can try the simple stock-based kernel known as the gregkernel.

XDA Developers member gregbradley introduces this rooted kernel based on stock software from the LT30p and LT29i. If you want to keep your phone fast and snappy, this is the best kernel to flash.  The gregkernel also comes with ClockworkMod Recovery.

Also, if you’re an XDA [...]

And, if we have to thank someone who’ll wave the magic wand for us, it’s XDA Developers member twistedumbrella. Let’s get ready for this Jelly Bean-compatible StarKissed Kangerade kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250.

The StarKissed Kangerade is a multi-source kernel based on Linux version 3.0.54. It comes with 10 governors: HotplugX, InteractiveX, OndemandX, Sakuractive, PegasusQ, Adaptive, Abyssplug, Savagedzen, Lulzactive(q), and Fantasy. SIO and VR [...]

How to flash Leankernel for the Galaxy Nexus I9250

by: Carl ParkerJanuary 21, 2013

All great ROMs become even more awesome with the right kernel. Unfortunately, pre-cooked ROMs don’t always have the kernels with the modifications that you need. That is why some experienced users flash kernels to improve performance, speed, or battery life. However, if you want a kernel for your Samsung Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250 that is stable and fast, then the kernel known as Leankernel by XDA Developers member jackpham will work best for you.

The LeanKernel is one of the many well known kernels in the Nexus forums. Aside from its stable and up-to-date build, the developer has removed unnecessary kernel components and has overclocked it to 1.65 gigahertz to make [...]
