AT&T U-Verse bundle promotion gives you choice between Nexus 7, Kindle Fire and other free gadgets

by: Andrew GrushMarch 19, 2013

You gotta love free stuff, right? That’s what AT&T is betting on, and that’s why they are now offering the choice between a Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, Sonos Play:3 speaker or an Xbox 360 for new customers that package internet service with U-Verse TV or Voice.

Of course nothing in life is truly free, so as you would expect, there is a catch. You will need to be a new customer and sign a one-year agreement that commits you to AT&T’s service. If you are certain that AT&T is the best choice for your Internet and TV or voice calling needs, than this might be worth it, though.

This offer is on the table until July 27th, which gives you several months to decide if the deal is right for you. For those hoping that they pull up to your place, activate service and hand you a shiny new toy, it doesn’t work that way unfortunately.

Instead, you will get a reward notification within three to four weeks after service activation. Once you redeem the reward, it will be another 2-3 weeks before the free device arrives to you.

What do you think of AT&T’s bundle offer, is it worth the hassle of committing to their service to get your hands on a free Android tablet, wireless speaker or even a game system?

If only they were an option in my area. Right now Insight (now Time Warner) is so far down my crap list that if they weren’t the only option, other than dial up, I would switch on principle alone. Their customer service is especially terrible after flat out lying to my wife on the price of an upgrade were were considering. Confirmed 3 separate times, and very explicitly, that what they were quoting was the new total price. Of course it was the total in addition to what we were currently paying.

I tried to sign up for this. The plan with the “free” device was $15 more per month than the plan without it for people with ATT wireless. Your “free” tablet will cost you $180.

I just switched from comcast.. granted Faster internet speeds…But service sucked royally and compared to Uverse TV comcast looks and feels ancient. I’m very happy with consistent speeds of internet for my needs..18 to 24 megs.. a sec.. and u300 package. I’m a hard core techie in my opinion. Lighting hit our comcast box April 13.. I’d still be out of service if I didn’t get att…In my opinion HD quality is way better on Uverse…no joke.. anyway.. I’ll be getting $50 plus my wifi device offer..just for upgrading to the u300 from u200..
