AT&T HTC One X to receive Android 4.2.2 OTA this week

by: Robert TriggsJanuary 28, 2014

The excellent HTC One X may finally be starting to show its age, but AT&T is still rolling out the updates. The handset set to receive an update to Sense 5.0 and Android 4.2.2 this week. Just a couple of weeks ago AT&T also updated the HTC One X+ to the same version of Android and Sense 5.0.

The update brings all the familiar Android 4.2.2 fixes and a handful of feature tweaks, such as multiple lockscreen pages for widgets, Daydream, and some security enhancements. But more importantly for HTC users, the One X will also be updated to Sense 5 which brings the all new HTC Blinkfeed, HTC Gallery, and a cleaner camera interface, as well as a pretty massive overhaul to the traditional HTC user interface. If you’d like a more in-depth look at the ins and outs of the update then check out this post from HTC.

AT&Ts update has now passed Technical Approval, and is scheduled to start rolling out over-the-air as early as tomorrow, Wednesday 29th January. As always, you can manually check for the update by heading over to Settings> Software Update> Check for Updates.

Sadly Android 4.2 will be as far as HTC will update the trusty old One X, but it’s had a very good run.

really…if i had an HTC One x i would be mad!

HTC One X has been rocking the update for months now, so they aren’t mad at all, on the other hand ATT Owners should be mad, not against HTC that released the update for more than a Quater now, but against their carriers that are delaying the update this muchso they can add their bloatware

Adding evidence to the argument that carrier devices suck. Hard.
