With several high-profile Asus products set to hit the market soon, namely the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity and the Asus Padfone, the Taiwanese havn’t quite forgotten about owners of the Transformer Prime.
Mobile Syrup reports that a number of Transformer Prime owners in the US and Canada have received a new OTA update on their quad-core slate. There are also reports that the update has been rolled out in the UK.
The new 184.108.40.206 firmware is expected to bring several enhancements to the Prime’s ICS experience. Those who have applied the update on their Transformer Prime said that they are noticing a better browsing experience while using the stock browser, as well as an improved battery life. It also comes with a new notification that lets you know when you attach that free GPS dongle on the tablet. The much promised face unlock feature is finally working.
Here are the complete release notes for the update:
The last major software update for the Transformer Prime was rolled out by Asus in late March, so hopefully the new one will address some issues that owners have about the Prime since then. Have you received the 220.127.116.11 firmware update on your Asus Transformer Prime? Anything else you notice on the tablet that hasn’t been mentioned above?

Installing as I type
since doing this firmware upgrade my screen keeps freezing and browser just stops
from toronto..just got it right now….does show that external gps is plugged in and facial unlock working…….
Just installed it on my prime and noticed the touch response is much quicker and accurate. I’m no longer having dropped keystrokes when typing and scrolling is much smoother in the browser. This might just be overexcitement but i now have one extra bar on the wifi signal meter.
Looking forward to checking out what other goodies Asus included for its loyal customers.
Also installing as I type, actually it already installed, rebooted and now it says Optimizing application 174 of 349…
I noticed my wifi quit working and won’t turn on :(
Further update on this – I powered it off and back on again one more time, and now the wifi is working again. #reboot3times
