The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 is to be one – if not the  first – tablets that will use the new powerful quad-core NVIDIA processor codenamed Kal-El (Tegra 3).  Tegra 3 was previously reported to be a quad-core processor but recent reports are mentioning that it will bear a fifth “companion” core, making the processor effectively quintiple-core, and consequently making the ASUS Eee Pad Trasfomer 2 more appealing, with better performance and battery life.

Specs

  • 1-1.3Ghz Quad (Quintuple) core Tegra 3 SoC
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB/32GB variants
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 1280×800 10.1 inch display

Without a doubt – this is going to be one of the hottest Android devices this holiday season, as ASUS is ramping up for a mid November release. We’ve heard from people familiar with the situation that the Transformer 2 is already in production, and ASUS is trying to avoid a repeat of what happened earlier this year, when they sold out much, much faster than expected.

Either way – it’s coming – and soon at that. Check out the video below, just leaked!

Looks like they’ve refined it, given it a more industrial design, and made it slimmer. What’s not to love?

Excited for this one? ASUS is on a roll! Ice Cream Sandwich + Tegra 3 = match made in heaven!
