Asphalt 7 is probably Gameloft’s most successful racer yet, and they’re looking to continue that success with Asphalt 8: Airborne, the game showcased on the Nexus 7 (2013) during the Android 4.3 and Nexus 7 unveiling in San Francisco a few weeks back. And from what we’ve seen of it so far, fans are in for a real treat.
The game was due to launch on Aug. 8, but due to delays, we’re looking at a new launch date — Aug. 22. If you’re really excited about the game, that can be a long time to wait. Of course, you do have a chance to get your hands on the game before it officially launches.
Gameloft is giving away a pre-launch code for Asphalt 8: Airborne to a single lucky winner. Yes folks, one winner will be able to take Asphalt 8: Airborne for a spin before anyone else. All you have to do to enter is subscribe to Gameloft’s YouTube channel and fill out the form on the developer’s website.
This is certainly going to be one of the hottest mobile games of the year, featuring OpenGL ES 3.0, the new 3D graphics standard in Android 4.3. Looking away from the technical side, Gameloft has plenty of content in Asphalt 8: Airborne. With 180 events, 47 licensed vehicles, and social integration, players are going to be able to spend a lot of time with this game.
One of the biggest questions surrounding this game is if it will support the new Google Play Games services. While there’s been no official confirmation, it’s highly likely. Gameloft brings a lot of games to Android, so it’d seem silly to not support such services. Regardless, we’ll just have to see what Gameloft has in store for us come Aug. 22.
Nonetheless, Asphalt 8: Airborne is going to be a wicked Android game! Are you excited about Gameloft’s newest offering? What are you looking forward to in the new game?

Im excited to try it out. Just hope it runs good on my overclocked note 2. If it doesn’t, ill just have to wait to play it on another faster device.
ofc it’ll run on the note 2 -_- :P
im tensed if it’ll run on the gnex/one s ;)
It seems to play most everything good. The 4 core cpu definitely helps with a lot of games, but it’s still seriously lacking in the gpu department. So it has good gaming performance but not excellent! :)
This is what im getting on Antutu with my overclocked note 2. Very good, but not excellent! Still pretty darn high though :)
gonna OC both my CPU AND GPU just to play this on my gnex.
Wow, Waiting to play on my SM…….Excited.
Too bad my G-Nexus won’t keep up with Asphalt 8, it barely keeps up with Asphalt 7 even if I overclock it. Can’t wait until I find a suitable replacement at the of the year for my aging G-Nexus.
