Application updates: Twitter, Facebook, Zynga and StumbleUpon
Rather than make a whole bunch of short posts, I thought I would collate them all into one manageable item. I think I sound like a debt repayment shark. Anyway, Twitter, Facebook, Zynga and StumbleUpon have all made waves today or very recently with their announcements for updates or products for Android.
Twitter have released an update for android which includes changed to the layout of the timeline and introduced a Tweet details page. The app is faster and more ‘polished’ and is well worth upgrading to if you haven’t already. In a recent press event in Palo Alto, Mark Zuckerberg announced a bunch of updates to the Facebook app for Android, also conceding that it has always “been a little behind.” Now, Places and Groups have both been added for Android, along with improved Notifications from within the app. Farmville makers Zynga have announced that they are soon to release their first game for Android beginning with Live Poker. Finally, StumbleUpon have released their crowd sourced application for Android which will take a look at what applications you use and help suggest other applications based on what other users have.
Wrapping up, its a great few days for application updates. They bring Android forward with functionality and improve its competitiveness with other platforms like the iPhone.
