A few weeks ago, the team behind the popular Apex Launcher app for Android announced, out of the blue, they were planning to release a major update in May. This was welcome news for fans of the launcher app, as it had not received an update since June of 2015. This week, in preparation for that big upgrade, the Apex Launcher team is letting anyone download a beta build of the new version.

In order to become a beta tester, you first have to join the Apex Launcher Beta community on Google+.  Once that is done, you can go to the beta test page and click on the “Become a tester” option. Finally, if you have not done so already, you can go ahead and download Apex Launcher from the Google Play Store. You should then be able to download the latest beta version of the app.

Keep in mind that technically this is a pre-release version, so you might encounter a few bugs while you run the build. If you decide not to use the beta build anymore, you can back to the beta test page and click on the “Leave the program” option. You can also give your feedback to the Apex Launcher team on its Google+ page with the tag #BetaTest#. The team says the final and official update for Apex Launcher should go live to every one of its other users in a few days.
