ANTIBIOTIC HD: A bug-zapping game for Android

Believe it or not, I really don’t like bugs. Imaging the tingling sensation when they crawl on your leg. Bugs hovering in the air are just like aircraft, looking for targets to drop their bombs on. It doesn’t mean that I hate bugs. I just don’t want them near me. The devs at 6am3.com may feel the same way, as they created a game that lets you exterminate bugs in a fun and entertaining way. The Antibiotic HD game lets you kill bugs by linking and zapping them with lightning.

There are there 3 modes in the game: Fingers (arcade), Brain (riddles), and Dojo. The Dojo is like a training mode where you get you get to play the game endlessly and without losing. Selecting a game mode will let you select a level of difficulty. If you’re new at playing Antibiotic HD, you might want to select the Easy or Medium difficulty. You can select the Insane mode if you have the wits to battle the bug apocalypse.

Selecting either the Fingers or Brain mode will let you choose a level. Both game modes have 12 levels, giving you a total of 24 levels to play. Each level will also differ in game layout and has a specific goal at each round.

There is a level where bugs will continuously fall inside a capsule-like container. You will need to zap a certain number of bugs before they escape the capsule.

The levels under Brain mode are even more challenging because you will have to solve puzzles in order to pass a level, such as zapping 20 bugs at the same time.

The main goal of this game is to zap those bugs and finish a level. Bugs come in different colors and shapes. All you need to do is to tap and link 3 or more bugs with the same color and shape in order to kill them.

At some point, those bugs will continuously move so you will need to zap them quickly before they break the chain. Your phone will also vibrate and make a buzzing sound while creating a link and zapping the bugs. You can enable or disable the sounds and vibration settings by going to the Options menu.

Antibiotic HD is a fun game, but it is too small for small-screen devices. The creators of this game suggest playing the game on a wider screen device. I tested this game on the Galaxy Nexus and bugs are just too small for my big fingers. But, I was still able to play the game and finish a level. This game would be best played on a tablet or with a stylus for better accuracy.

Get Antibiotic HD for free from the Google Play Store. The free version includes 4 levels in each game modes. If you like the game and you want to unlock the other 16 levels, you will need to purchase the game for about US$1.00. The game also doesn’t have any ads running in the background and ran smoothly while we were testing the game.

So, what are you waiting for? Zap all those bugs before they overrun you with Antibiotic HD game.
