If you were part of the US Army, you probably banked with the Navy Federal Credit Union, it being one of the country’s largest credit unions and which happens to service the entire Department of Defense and their civilian dependents. That’s a lot of people serviced right there.

Banking’s always been a bit of a chore, so a lot of banks and credit unions have been putting out apps to make financial dealing not so onerous. And the NFCU is not an exception as the credit union just put up their app in the Android Market.

The mobile banking app does all that you expect out of a mobile banking service. Members can immediately check their account balances, view recent transactions, and transfer money. Additional features include tracking and calculating interest rates and payments for auto, home, personal loans and credit cards. You can also use the branch locator function to find Navy Federal Credit Union ATMs and branch locations. It also includes a tip calculator and a currency converter, something to help out military personnel based overseas.

The app itself is pretty slickly made. A good, clean and intuitive interface assures the user has an easy way of understanding how the app works. The app is free on the Android Market, so all you have to do is drop on by the Android Market and download it. Seriously, having a mobile banking app can save you a lot of time and effort. So better download it and try it out if you’re one of the Navy Federal Credit Union’s customers.
