Following the recent success of NASA’s space crawler in Mars, Rovio and the space agency are teaming up once more in bringing out the latest episode of Angry Birds Space. This time, the episode is inspired by Curiosity’s adventure on the red planet.

There has to be a backstory that justifies why the birds seem to have a perpetually high blood pressure level, right? In this case, the bad piggies apparently have hijacked the Mars Rover in order to get a hold of the birds’ precious eggs. This calls for some pigs-smashing time.

The new episode will come with the following:

  • Blast through 20 fiery levels on the red planet, plus two antenna egg levels!
  • Dodge explosive volcanoes and fire asteroids!
  • Say hello to the brand new astronaut pig!
  • Find three hidden rovers and landers to open special bonus levels and discover more about the NASA missions!

As always, the new update can be downloaded for free on Google Play, but you do have to put up with some annoying ads. You can always get the premium version of the game for $1 to get rid of the ads. If 20 new levels aren’t good enough for your slinging pleasure, word has it Rovio will follow it up with a Red Planet episode in fall.
