Angry Birds celebrates its third birthday today
It’s quite an achievement, and a testament to the sheer addictiveness of Angry Birds, that it’s managed to remain one of the most popular games across all smartphone platforms since its December 2009 release. To celebrate a joyous three years of catapulting our avian pals at the evil, egg stealing piggies Rovio have released the new 3.0.0 update.
The update plays host to 30 brand new levels, introduces the Pink Bird from Angry Birds Seasons and even throws in some explosively delicious cake. The new missions are split over 15 new “Birdday Party” themed levels and 15 Bad-Piggies themed ones.
There’s nothing else included in the update that noticeably changes anything major with the rest of the game, apart from support for the iPhone 5 on the iOS version, but that doesn’t really concern us.
Overall the new levels don’t really introduce anything that we haven’t seen elsewhere in the Angry Birds formula, but this update is a perfect excuse to pick up the game again if you’re looking for a few more levels with which to rekindle the joy of hurling birds through the air.
