It seems that Amazon has dropped the price of the Samsung Moment for Sprint by quite a bit. Originally listed for $179.99 with a 2 year contract, the Moment is now available for the very…
This might not be the case for every online retailer at the moment (it probably is), but Android is certainly making waves at Amazon. Out of the top ten best selling smarphones on the Amazon website, the top nine run Android. This is most interesting since Amazon stock pretty much every smartphone under the sun, and also captures a healthy cross-section of American consumers due to their original core product being books (and not just techy-gadgets).
The one odd thing about Amazon’s list is the omission of the iPhone. This is strange not least of which is because Amazon offer AT&T devices along with Apple’s iPad. We’re sure that this device would feature in the number 1 or 2 spots on Amazon’s list. On the other hand, Sprint’s EVO 4G isn’t included in the top nine list because it is out-of-stock, so its swings and round-a-bouts right now, for sure.
The one missing market sector worth mentioning is the corporate market. This is because they primarily buy directly from carriers and not through Amazon. According to Fortune/CNN, this part of the market is substantially under-representative. Indeed, check out the source for more information.
