The guys at PhoneArena have received a screen shot of a Verizon inventory system that appears to suggest that we’ll be seeing a device called the HTC Desire sporting the Android OS. The photo shows the device description as being “PCD/HTC DESIRE ADR6200 DIGITAL GOOGL”.
PCD is Personal Communications Devices, formerly UT Starcom and Audiovox, and it has often been involved with HTC devices that have ended up on Verizon.
I’ve no real clue what the “DIGITAL” part means, since basically every device is digital now, but “GOOGL” certainly does suggest an Android based device. Now, it *is* possible that this is referring to some other type of device with a tight Google tie-in, but considering Verizon’s recent deal with Microsoft and Bing, that seems unlikely.
