When it comes to display technology, Sharp is clearly one of the leading innovators in the field. The company has now announced that they have begun full-scale production of a new 5-inch 1080p display, featuring an impressive pixel density of 443ppi. Sharp’s latest screen is about 1.3 times denser than their existing 4.3-inch 720p display. The new display’s ppi is a major achievement and has overtaken 340PPI as the highest density offered by a smartphone display.

NTT DoCoMo has begun addressing the unique translation problems that occur with Japanese speakers. Because the Japanese language is so different, it makes calls from Japan very difficult. This is because most of Japan’s citizens have to learn other languages in order to properly communicate via phone calls. Now that NTT DoCoMo provides Japanese translation, we are one step closer to having seamless communication throughout the world.
