When Android was announced as free software that would be available for all devices, anywhere, we’re pretty sure that Google didn’t exactly have the iPhone in mind. But yesterday the iPhone DevTeam announced that they have been working on project iBoot for several months now. Project iBoot runs different OS boot loaders than the standard iPhone jailbreak, and will allow users to chose whether to boot into the normal iPhone OS, or into a Linux based OS – like potentially Android. For now, many of the drivers are yet to be ported to the iPhone, but installing the Android OS is noted as being considered by the DevTeam.
This could turn out to be an interesting turn of events.
