Hard to believe – but it’s true. As of today, there are 500,000 Android devices activated each and every day – and it is only accelerating. So much so, that it’s a number that is growing at over 4.4% every week, which the father of Android, Andy Rubin, let us know in a recent tweet.

- the Impressions
Android’s staggering growth has hit a new milestone as of several hours ago, but the growth in the last few months alone is just as impressive. Back in May, Google told us that 100 million Android devices had been activated and 400,000 devices were being activated on a daily basis. It took only a month and a half for Android to reach the 500,000 a day mark. If it can sustain this level of growth then it has the potential to reach a truly magical number by the end of the year: one million activations daily.
Check out this great article that details the freight train that is Android, and why it’s unlikely that the Android Juggernaut is going to slow down.
Any thoughts? Any thing slowing down the freight train?

500,000/day thats incredible.
Does that include 5 Honeycomb tablet activations per day?
does it include all the re-activations (after you clean data cache when you flash new ROM)? i think so…
Android is conquering every bit slowly!
