Who doesn’t like free devices? How about free Nexus devices? We thought so. This week on Android Authority On Air, we dropped bombs on the Android world, detailing our Nexus 4 International Giveaway. You’ll have to listen closely this week as during the show, we gave away a special code that must be entered here for an additional chance to win the contest. You’ll also want to tune in later this week for a second chance as winning a Nexus 4.
Besides contests, we covered the latest and great Android app updates this week. Verizon is finally killing VCast Apps. Let the rejoicing begin! Down with bloatware and redundant app stores! Google Shopper got a major update, a new UI, picture search and more, just in time for the holiday shopping season. If you’re down with Microsoft, you’ll be happy to know that Office for Android is coming in a few months according to the latest rumors. And, to keep the rumor mill churning, we’re most likely going to see a major Google Wallet update soon.
Seeing as we still haven’t revised or done away with the patent system here; Apple, Motorola and Microsoft continued to use and abuse the system. Apple lost a few, Samsung won a few and the Judge proceeding over the Microsoft vs Motorola case might just be crazier than Judge Koh.
We covered a few carrier bombs this week that will be affecting the Android world. AT&T is fined, Verizon plans to complete their LTE rollout in about 6 months, Sprint buys US Cellular and even T-Mobile made a few headlines. We covered a few new rumored devices and Jelly Bean updates. HTC Droid DNA anyone? Last but not least, with Rootin’ and ROM’in, CyanogenMod added a built in root file explorer. All this and more this week on Android Authority On Air.
