    New Design Android Authority

Today, it’s with great excitement that we are unveiling our new design! We live and breathe Android; we truly do eat, sleep, Android – 24/7.

We aspire to serve you in the best way possible, and, as such, are opting for a responsive design that will work great with any device your accessing it on: smartphone, mid sized tablet, large tablet, desktop, laptop, and more.

For those of you that prefer the more classical blog style, we’ve ensured that you are taken care of. There is a link located in the menu where you can revert back to this, and the site will remember what version you like so it’s always the way you like it.

If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be able to review the latest apps, Android smartphones, Android tablets, make great videos, deliver unique editorials and thought leadership or cover Android news with passion and fervour!

While every possible effort has been made to ensure the new design is bug free, we appreciate your input. There’s a form below, and if you find any bugs, or anything you feel could be improved upon, then please let us know!

    New Design Feedback

Thanks alot Jayfeather787! We’ll be actively developing it and improving it so please let us know if you have any suggestions!

I don’t care for the new layout. It is way too “busy”

      • Jayfeather787

Exactly, more stuff on the same screen=better. Don’t have to scroll as much, everything where I can see it. Also you can switch to blog view, which is also better from the old one.

      • Guest123

I’ll be using the “blog” link :)

      • Nick V

As I can appreciate what goes into designing and putting all this together, I was taken aback by the new layout. Yesterday’s layout was perfect. Just the right mount of info with the ability to see and get the information you wanted and needed.

    • Nate

      im diggin it

      • http://www.AndroidAuthority.com/ Darcy Alexander LaCouvee

        Thanks Nate!

    • Rizzle89

Loving it… Will take some getting used to, but on the right track.

      • http://www.AndroidAuthority.com/ Darcy Alexander LaCouvee

Appreciate it Rizzle89. We’ll be tweaking it to perfection! Please let us know if you have any suggestions :)

When I first saw the new design, I was like “This is a f8cking mess”. But I’m getting more used to it slowly. xD

    • Michael Muyunda

noice! the last one was cluttered and the color choices for some things where bad.

    • Jaime

I like it! It looks much more modern and it looks better on my phone and tablet!

      • Adam Koueider

        Responsive design ftw! :)

    • http://gadgetgyan.in/ Gadgetgyan

Looks cool. Its easy to access and read the latest news as well. Good Work…

    • Groud Frank

I like it. The bitching will stop in a week or two. People always complain when change happens, always.

    • Balraj

New look is good but in the top, to expand popular post we have a down arrow button right…
I wish you ppl had a up-arrow collapse button
      That’s it..
Btw new design works on http://www.aa.com
      Not m.aa.com
      I think that’s a good thing :-P

    • Brandon Miranda

This is so much better. You guys truly are the best Android blog put there and my first come to place when I’m looking for the latest Android info. Well done Darcy and AA crew!

    • Brandon Miranda

I love the redesign. I’ve been craving one for a while. You guys are truly the best Android website out there and my come to place for Android news. Always. Fantastic job Darcy and AA crew!

    • Mr Mop

Not exactly relevant, but are you guys ever going to update the Android Authority app?

    • Shark Bait

Why prioritise popular over latest, surley thats not how a blog should work.
Overall I think the design language is pretty mundane, nothing strikes meas fantastic, and no better than the old one

    • DuceTheCapo

      I like the new layout…

    • Jesus

NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. NEVER NEEDED A NEW LAYOUT. That is all.

    • Valtheus

The new design is nice but it needs a few improvements:

      1. The “Latest” should be the widest column and not the popular. Latest news is what i’m after when i land on your page.
      2. Less images in the single article page because they distract you. Suggestion: remove the right column.

      *Also submited in feedback. ;)

      • http://www.androidauthority.com Derek Scott

        Great suggestions Valtheus

        • Valtheus

I am glad you guys like them.

    • Christian Koch

I like it except for one thing: scrolling up and down is a bitch. The top bar (containing either the Android Authority logo, and some navigation; or justlatest news, videos and popular) is really distracting. It pops up and goes away and creates like a flimmering effect, which makes reading much harder.

      • http://www.androidauthority.com Derek Scott

We have just removed it. It didn’t function like we had planned. Once again we appreciate all your feedback. We are listening.

    • Brendon Brown

Guys please make it a little bit less…busy :)

      • http://www.androidauthority.com Derek Scott

        Suggestions?

        • Brendon Brown

Like, maybe more of a list view, now its kinda more like a grid view, but don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice layout. It’ll look amazing on tablets and phones!

    • Brendon Brown

Please show the amount of comments and views of the article :)

    • Mirrorless Forums

Dont like it at all…. messy

    • Luka Mlinar

I personaly don’t like it but there is a way for old fans to be satisfied. Well with a little cooperation from the AA team that is. The “…/android-news/” section look almost like the old front page. Even better if you ask me. If we could get that section to be a bit narrow so we don’t have to scroll forever than people who don’t like the new front page (like me) can bookmark that as our front page. This is really a rare opportunity where everyone can be happy with a layout redesign.

      • Luka Mlinar

Also if that’s a problem, there could be a button in the top right corner where you can chose the narrowness of the page. Blogs used to have this. I think it’s an Ajax scrips. Never really used it so don’t quote me on that.

        • http://AndroidAuthority.com/ Bogdan Petrovan

I know it’s not ideal, but for now you can resize the browser window to make that column more narrow.

          • Luka Mlinar

The down side is that it sizes androidauthority.com as a whole so when i open the link i get tiny unreadable text. It was a suggestion. If it doesn’t happen i will try to make a script to fix it myself ;)

    • James Diman

I do not like the 3 column view.
I have to scroll down and read the left column.
Scroll down and read the middle column.
Scroll down and read the right column.

I have already in 5 minutes, changed it to blog view. One column to read, large pics; read and done. Refresh in an hour, repeat.

    • Nathan Sassaman

Cool….I think it needs more of Jace’s Standup routine….

    • Sharath

Too much effin’ mess,i would fire the UX guy who did this,i myself as a Web Designer find this too much of clutter and disorienting. I’m glad atleast there is blog view option. You guys just wasted your money, but still i love this site!

    • yeahman45

too messy sorry..switched back to old layout after 30 seconds

    • DigBick

I feel dizzy from this new mess, too much is going on at the same time, like chaos.

    • Guest

Using the Firefox v26(Windows 7) and Im getting the navigation drawer on the left! I think I’m being redirected to touch version!

    • Memphis May [S]unjay

I don’t like the new layout.
