Now that Facebook is slowly converting profiles into the new Timeline version, a new Android app has made things easier for those who want to change their cover photos. The app, called Facebook Timeline Covers by D33P, is the first 2D-to-3D Facebook photo app. This means that through the app, Facebook Timeline cover photos can be created using the user’s own photos or even the cover arts produced by D33P.
“The Facebook Timeline design has already been adopted by users around the world, and the design has the cover photo and the profile picture placed tightly together. This layout has resulted some designers creating playful designs that allows interaction between the cover photo and the profile picture,” said Ricky Lui, COO & Co-founder of D33P.
“Our new app brings the creation of a ‘Facebook Timeline Seamless Combo’ to the hands of us non-designers, who don’t necessarily have the Photoshop skills. The app makes it very easy to create both the cover photo and the profile picture at the same time. The D33P series of apps have a single mission in mind: Have Fun With Photos. Facebook is the largest photo repository on the planet, and our Facebook Timeline Covers app enables user to play with their photos, unleash their creativity, and showcase their creation as their Facebook Timeline cover.”
Version 1.2 of the app enables users to choose a photo they would like to use as a cover from his own albums, friends’ albums, or news feeds in Facebook. Once a cover photo has been chosen, the user has an option to choose another photo he can use as his profile picture. While his picture is being taken, his selected cover photo will be visible on screen, just like a multi-exposure shot, so that the user sees how his new profile photo will look beside his cover photo. This is a great option for those who want to achieve a stunning visual display on their Timeline.
Another option is to search from the app’s pre-installed Cover Arts photos and use it as his cover photo. The fun part about this is that the user can use the Cover Arts and interact with it. Some of the new Cover Arts photos pre-installed for version 1.2 include special holidays such as Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Australia Day, MLK, Groundhog Day, and many more.
For a limited time, Facebook Timeline Covers by D33P is available for free in the Android Market. Availability on other Android marketplaces will follow soon. Download this app now by clicking on this link.
